International Marconi Day
What is International Marconi Day?
Every year, the Cornish Radio Amateur Club holds an event called International Marconi Day. International Marconi Day is a 24 hour amateur radio event honoring Guglielmo Marconi's contribution to the invention of radio.
For more information on International Maroni Day, see this page.
Since InfoAge is located on the grounds of what used to be the Marconi Belmar Wireless Receiving Station, and since our Radio Technology Museum is located on their campus, this makes our club's station, W2RTM not only eligible, but a popular target for QSO!
NJARC members that are registered as Radio Amateurs are encouraged to attend and participate. Being an event where we expect a lot of contacts, the pace of QSO can be quite high, easily into the hundreds, so extra operators on hand are welcome!
Note: nonlicensed Members are welcome to attend and can operate under supervision of registered amateurs.
When/Where is International Marconi Day?
International Marconi Day is traditionally the Saturday closest to Marconi's birthday (April 25th), but see this page for details on this year's event.
The NJARC operates W2RTM directly out of our Radio Technology Museum on International Marconi Day.
Planning and preparation will be discussed through our Communicator email list starting several weeks ahead of the event.
Planning/Prep days and the event itself is included on our Event Calendar once they are planned.
